After many years of dedicated service Denise Glowski has stepped down as the chair of Reach Out And Read. Denise continues on the committee and along with Michelle Mitchell orders and organizes all the books. ROR distributes between 6000 and 7000 books each year so the time and energy of Denise and Mitchelle is deeply appreciated. Other committee members are Tersea Flethcher, Joyce Hyatt, Jan Coseo and Ralph Moore. Another important function of ROR is the volunteer reader program. As children wait for their pediatric appointments they are read to in the waiting room. This program allows for children to enjoy being read to and serves as a vehicle to model reading out loud for parents. This past year Barbara Hutchenson, Carolyn Moore and Doug Cotton have given many hours to the program and we welcome Fran Juriga as our newest reader. ROR thanks these readers for their dedicated service. As the new chair I would like to thank Denise for her organization and skills making my transition easy. I look forward to working with the ROR committee.
