BOOK FEST 2011
"A Book on Every Bed" is an activity the Family Reading Partnership of Chemung Valley is promoting to encourage family literacy. Giving books is an exciting way to mark special days for family members. Those special days can be birthdays, the first day of school, days that mark special achievements, holidays such as Valentine's Day--or just a day to say "I am thinking of you." A book on every bed requires only a simple gesture. As gift givers, readers choose and wrap books that would mark holidays or special days for receivers--especially children--then place them on receivers' beds to greet them as their special days begin, ideally on multiple occasions throughout the year!
